Volume of a pyramid is one-third the base area times the height. A square base of side 6 and height 5 is (1/3)(36)(5) = 60. Volume as a set is in area and volume.
Do not skip the third
A cone is the circular version of the same one-third rule, in volume of a cone. Height is perpendicular from the apex to the base, not a slanted edge.
Cylinder surface area is a wrapping job, in surface area of a cylinder. The short list is in ACT Math formulas.
The bottom line
(1/3) × base area × height. Same third as a cone.
