Demonstrated interest can help at campuses that track it. It does not replace a Composite those campuses still read. Visit and email after you know whether you will send a score.
When interest matters
Smaller private colleges often log visits, portals, and interviews. A 29 plus a real visit can beat a silent 31. It will not turn a 22 into a 32 file. Do colleges still care about scores.
When the number still wins
Large publics and most merit grids do not grade your campus tour. Send or withhold using the published band: should you submit. GPA vs test: GPA vs ACT.
The bottom line
Do the visit if that college tracks it. Do not skip a retake because you "already showed interest."
Start practicing
