Graph y = a^x or y = a(b)^x and click the point or intercept the item asked for. Desmos handles the growth; you match the last sentence. Desmos access is in Desmos on the ACT.

Type the model as written

Parentheses matter: 2^3x is not 2^(3x). Evaluate a year or a time by clicking the point, or type the x-value. Growth and decay as algebra are in exponential growth and decay.

Logs invert exponentials, in logs in Desmos. If the curve is off the screen, set the window, in setting the window.

The bottom line

Graph the exponential. Click the point. Watch the parentheses.
