Find a vertex in Desmos

Graph the quadratic and click the turning point. That click is the vertex. Completing the square is optional when Desmos will show it. Desmos access is in Desmos on the ACT.

Click the bump

A parabola opening up has a minimum. Opening down has a maximum. The x-coordinate of that point is the axis of symmetry. Quadratics as a set are in quadratics in Desmos.

X-intercepts are a different click, in finding x-intercepts. If the vertex is off the screen, set the window, in setting the window.

The bottom line

Graph, click the turning point, read (h, k).
