If the item shows both x and y, graph first. A line, a curve, or a system is often faster to click than to rearrange. Desmos access is in Desmos on the ACT.

Type each equation as written. Click the crossing for a system, in finding intersections. If a letter is not x, rewrite it or you get a slider, in rewrite in terms of x.
If the interesting part is off the screen, set the window, in setting the window.
