Annotate Conflicting Viewpoints

On Conflicting Viewpoints, read the passage. Label each student or scientist with one short stance before you touch the questions. This is the passage type where skipping the intro first is a bad idea. The full type is in Conflicting Viewpoints.

One line per voice

Scientist 1: heat causes X. Scientist 2: heat does not. That is enough. Comparison questions will ask who would agree with a new fact. If you mix the voices, every item gets harder. Comparing two experiments on a research-summary passage is a different job, in comparing two experiments.

New information that hits a viewpoint is in new-information questions. Hypothesis versus what the data show is in hypothesis versus conclusion.
