ACT scores for military academies

October 3, 2026 · 6 min read

West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy publish ACT ranges that move each class. Treat the latest admissions page as the source—do not memorize a cutoff from a forum post.

How academies use the ACT

The Composite is one part of a nomination, medical, and fitness file. A high Math (and Science, if you sit it) helps a STEM major case. STEM reporting: the STEM score. Engineering-Science: engineering and Science.

Planning, not a rumor

If the academy still posts a middle 50%, aim at or above the 75th among submitters. Public-flagship context is not the same file: public university scores.

The bottom line

Look up each academy this cycle. Send a real Composite, sit Science if they will read STEM, and do not treat a nomination as a substitute for the number they still ask for.

Start practicing

Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
