Dual enrollment and the ACT

October 4, 2026 · 5 min read

Dual enrollment does not retire the ACT for most freshman applications. Credits can place you out of a class. They rarely replace a Composite a campus still reads.

When the ACT still matters

Direct-admit majors, merit grids, and campuses that remain test-required. Set a target from the college, not from the dual-credit GPA: find your target score.

The bottom line

Treat dual enrollment as transcript strength. Sit the ACT if any college on the list still asks for a number.

Start practicing

Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
