Start in MyACT. If a score is missing, held, or looks wrong, use ACT's published contact path—not a random social inbox. Most delays resolve without a phone call.
Check these first
- The correct test date is selected in MyACT.
- Photo or ID mismatch messages.
- The normal posting window has actually closed.
How long to wait: how long scores take. Reading the PDF: how to read a score report.
When to write
A hold with no explanation past the published window, a send that colleges never received, or a name/ID flag you already tried to fix. Have the ACT ID and test date ready. Sending scores: send scores to colleges.
The bottom line
MyACT first, official contact second. Do not reopen a file because the Composite is lower than you wanted.
Start practicing
Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
