How to raise your ACT score by 3 points

October 3, 2026 · 6 min read

A three-point Composite jump is usually one weak section plus fewer careless misses—often four to eight weeks, not a new syllabus. Do not study all three cores equally if one is the floor.

Where three points hide

  • A 22 English next to 28 / 28—English alone can move the average.
  • Bubbling and last-five-minute rushes.
  • The same five grammar or algebra misses every Saturday.

Careless work: stop careless mistakes.

A 1–2 month shape

Two timed official sections a week on the weak core, one mixed review, one full core as a checkpoint. If the second core does not move, the plan is wrong—not the student.

The bottom line

Three points is a focused section job. If you need seven or ten, change the calendar, not just the highlighter.
