Compare viewpoints on ACT Science

October 7, 2026 · 5 min read

Compare-viewpoint items ask where two scientists agree, disagree, or would predict differently. Chart each claim before you pick. This is narrower than conflicting viewpoints as a passage type, in conflicting viewpoints. Science is optional and outside the Composite.

Same question, two answers

Write a short label for Scientist 1 and Scientist 2 on the point the stem names. Annotating as you read is in annotating conflicting viewpoints. Evaluating a model is a neighbor, in evaluating a model.

New information that would help one side is in new-information questions.

The bottom line

Name each view on the stem’s point. Then compare those two notes, not your own science knowledge.

Start practicing

Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
