A pattern question asks what happens as one column or axis changes. Read the trend, then pick the choice that names it. Trends as a broader skill are in interpreting trends.

Follow one variable

As temperature goes up, does yield go up, down, or turn? Direct versus inverse on a graph is in direct versus inverse. Min, max, and turning points are in minimums, maximums, and turning points.

A single plotted value is a detail, not a pattern, in detail from the graph.

The bottom line

One axis moves. Say what the other does. That sentence is the answer.
