On standard time, the section clock does not stop if you leave for the bathroom. Use the scheduled break between sections when you can. Extended-time students follow the timing ACT approved.
Standard time
Leave mid-section only if you must. You lose those minutes. Plan water and a snack for the official break, not for minute 12 of Math.
Extended time
Your approval letter is the clock. Practice with those breaks: extended time, practice with extended time.
The bottom line
The official break is the bathroom. A mid-section exit is an emergency, and the timer keeps moving.
Start practicing
Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
