On the digital ACT, zoom in on a Science figure when the ticks are tight. That is figure zoom, not Desmos zoom and not the magnifier. Tools overall are in digital ACT tools.
When to zoom
Two lines that almost overlap, a crowded axis, a value between ticks. Zoom, read, zoom back out so you do not lose the rest of the figure. The magnifier is for text size, in the magnifier. Desmos zoom is a Math tool, in zooming a missing Desmos graph.
A straightedge still helps after you zoom, in a straightedge on the graph.
The bottom line
Tight ticks: zoom the figure, read the value, reset the view.
