Is Khan Academy good for the ACT?

October 1, 2026 · 6 min read

Khan Academy is excellent for SAT practice and for rebuilding algebra or grammar foundations. It is not an ACT course: there is no official ACT partnership, no enhanced ACT full tests, and no Science section that matches ACT graphs. Use it as a skills gym, then switch to ACT-specific timing and items.

What you can reuse

What Khan will not do

  • Time you for 50 English questions in 35 minutes
  • Give four long ACT Reading passages with nine questions each
  • Train ACT Science figures-first strategy
  • Produce a 1–36 Composite with a real conversion table

A better stack if you already live in Khan

Keep Khan for content gaps. Add official ACT practice and an ACT-specific plan. Free ACT practice tests, how to study for the ACT, best ACT prep 2026. Short drills between Khan videos fit thirty-six quizzes.

If you have not chosen a test yet

Do not let Khan lock you into the SAT. Take one timed ACT diagnostic and one SAT diagnostic, then pick. Should you take both.

The bottom line

Khan Academy is a free math and grammar tutor, not ACT prep. Translate what you learn there onto enhanced ACT timing as soon as the concept clicks.

Start practicing

Start with a free diagnostic, then drill your weak spots with 15-question quizzes and track how you're doing across Reading, English, and Math. Compare plans whenever you're ready to go further.
